Both Porsolt forced swim test and Tail suspension test, freezing can be automatically measured by image analysis.
Images of subjects in the forced swim test are captured from directly above, while subjects in the tail suspension test are
taken from the side. Lighting within the chamber illuminates the background of the subject, thus decreasing the amount
of noise and allowing for a clear image analysis. Furthermore, the tail suspension test has been designed to prevent
the subject from climbing up on its own tail during testing to provide more accurate behavioral measurements.
